MSNBC Interview Day!

Hey Everyone!

Last week, we had something very exciting happen: MSNBC paid us a visit to talk to me about my experiences moving from Finance to Fashion! Their team arrived around 9:00 to set up, and they turned my whole showroom into a full-blown TV studio, complete with blinding lights, lapel microphones, a directorial monitor screen, and those big black umbrellas that they put behind the cameras to direct the lighting – I felt like a celebrity! My team turned the showroom upside-down, temporarily putting work on hold, and it took forever to get the sound right (New York City doesn’t quiet down for anyone). I’ve posted a few pictures of the fun below! The interview itself took longer than expected, as it turned more into a conversation – and the interviewer didn’t leave anything out. Still, it was a lot of fun, and I’m thrilled it happened! Keep an eye out for me on MSNBC!

In other news, I’m working on several new designs based on the concept of “feminine power suiting” – they’re meant to help women like you look great while climbing the social and corporate ladder (hopefully while wearing some sexy heels). I’ve included one of my design sketches below. I also just received some gorgeous new fabrics from Italy, and can’t wait to work them into my new designs! And for my fans in Las Vegas and Florida, never fear – my team is currently researching these two markets as our next target destinations. There’s just so much happening, I’m so excited to be doing what I love, designing clothes that you all love!

Until later, here’s an article from the New York Times on the demise of the “damsel”, or girlish woman, in fashion: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/24/fashion/24APPEAL.html?_r=1&ref=fashion
